When we love someone, we also love every thing associated with the one who we love. Majnoon of Laila used to kiss walls of the house of Laila because she used to dwell in that house.
You can’t love Allah without loving who Allah loves.
Quran (3:31) Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah , then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”
We follow Prophet (PBUH) because we love Allah and we love Prophet (PBUH) because Allah loves him.
Quran (94:4) And raised high for you [O Muhammad] your mention.
We can see this concept in life of Prophet (PBUH) also. He used to send gifts to the friends of his wife Khadija (R.A) because she used to send them gifts.
Once a companion asked Prophet (PBUH) who does he love the most and replied “Aisha”. He asked, “after that?” and he (PBUH) replied, “Her father”.
He could have said Abu Bakr but instead he mentioned him as a relative to his beloved wife Aisha (R.A).
Even angels love those who their beloved loves.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel, saying, ‘Allah loves so and so, O Gabriel love him’ So Gabriel would love him and then would make an announcement in the Heavens: ‘Allah has loved so and-so therefore you should love him also.’ So all the dwellers of the Heavens would love him, and then he is granted the pleasure of the people on the earth.” (See Hadith No. 66, Vol. 8)
When our child makes something, we admire it and perhaps keep it safe too. Not because it is a piece of art but because we love our child and hence we love what our child created.
Everything that exists in this world is a creation of Allah. If we love Allah, can we hate his creation?
When our brothers and sisters come to the masjid, we should welcome them and meet them with a smile because they have come to prostrate in front of The One who we love the most and because they are created by Him (SWT).
One of the signs of the last hour is that people will only say salam to those who they know. Indeed the messenger of Allah peace be on him has said the truth.
May Allah soften our hearts towards His creation and make it easy for us to love one another purely for His sake.
Mu’adh binJabal narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:
“Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, said: ‘Those who love each other for the sake of My Majesty shall be upon podiums of light, and they will be admired by the Prophets and the martyrs.'” – Jami` at-Tirmidhi (Book 36, Hadith 87)
